Well. I have received my laptop 13 days after the order which is today.

I have unpacked my laptop and finally switched it on but when I've done that, the screen went totally dark and you can't really see what is going on the screen. When I tried to close open/close the screen a bit further up and down the screen went bright as normal few times.

Basically I think the screen was damaged and I am going to write a letter to their support to see what I can do with it.

There is one more thing. I have read a comment about 8-cell battery that comes with Inspiron 13z and that it is a bit bigger than the hole in a laptop but when I saw it for the first time I was like "wtf?". It is really big battery and the laptop does not really seems that good as it meant to.

I have just recieved my 3rd dell laptop. I can not fault dell, when there have been problems they fixed it straight away. The delivery has always been on time.

What i find amazing is that people moan but you still all order from Dell.

In the same boat as Alex. Have received an invoice from Dell, but money is still in my account?!

Had the automated call today from Dell / Walsh Western, and am going to camp out by the front door tomorrow morning in hope!

Well, after I read all this comments I wish I had found these lists of compalaints before I ordered from Dell. I have ordered on 12th of February, not far away and it's in delivery progress right now.

I cannot login on Walsh Western website as it is says that "The order number did not much the customer number." So I have send an e-mail to dell few hours ago and still waiting for the answer.

I hope they will give me another number to try as I read in one of the comments this thing happened to many people and what dell did, is just gave out a new number to check.

It is says that it will be delivered on or before 01/03/2010, so I hope it will be alright but I don't feel confident at all right now.

I will keep posting.

I can't stand the excitement, the Walsh Western track and trace record has changed since my last comment and now says "ORDER ON DELIVERY". The anticipation is killing me...

I'm waiting at home (during a very busy work week) for a delivery that's supposed to arrive by 1.00pm today. I received the automated telephone call making the arrangements yesterday and the Walsh Western link from Dell suggests my deliveries are in the right area. However after reading all these comments I'm a teensy bit worried that I might be sitting here in vain, but living in hope that the deliveries will arrive as scheduled. Will keep you posted. By the way, the software I ordered with my new PC is not scheduled to arrive for another week or so. If Dell had told me that when I ordered it I would have gone to Amazon, who are slightly more expensive, but could have delivered the following day. What good is a PC without software?

Still waiting for my box 1 of 2, received box 2 of 2 and an order complete after a successfull delivery. Suddenly after hours on the phone to India and the mombai shuffle they (Indian Phone Support) did exactly what I did, i.e. fill in the complaint form on the Dell web. I mean, just how much money is Dell loosing here. Confidence in their product IS being affected by a below standard delivery and tracking system. By the way, the web site tracking shown below is a lie, I took a screenie on the evening of the 5th and that last line was not there. So someone is making up these tracking entries as they go along and they are back-dating them. They are NOT the product of a bar-code scanner.

I used to like Dell, I mean their kit is great. The only thing that attracted me to them was they had a good support system in place. Heck, they had the BEST support system in place. Now I'm not so sure. My confidence has ebbed away. I'm going to think long and hard about which company gets my tablet order. I may end up going with Archos and not Dell. I also need to upgrade my Solaris box to 64 bit. Once again, I have confidence in Dell, but no confidence in the delivery. I may go down to PC World and build my own system. Now that WOULD be nice, a pick-and-mix build-your-own. Technicians there to help you set up a dual screen, striped raid, high rez, chunky memory, aaaaaaagh, chunky memory (drool). If I was a Dell shareholder I'd be selling my Dell shares about now.

Hi all,

I ordered my laptop on the 26th January and was given an estimated delivery date of 22nd February.

Checked my "online tracking" and it says it's already been shipped. However, now when I try to use the "online tracking" it doesn't load, and says that the walshwestern.com website doesn't even exist...

My dad got a laptop from Dell years ago and said that everything about the order procedure and delivery was second to none, so I thought, great, Dell is the way to go.

Now i'm starting to wonder if i'm going to regret my decision...
